Know These Precautions Before Buying A Used Ultrasonic Cleaner

Prices of ultrasonic cleaners, appropriate for home use, have become so reasonable that it does not make much sense to buy a used unit except when you are really short of money. But if you are going to start a small business where an appropriately sized new ultrasonic cleaner can run to a couple of thousand dollars, buying a used one can be a bargain provided you take the proper precautions prior to the purchase.

Basically, an ultrasonic cleaner is a steel tank with a lid, that has an ultrasonic generator. There is also a separable hanging tray or basket to place the items to be cleaned. What is not so evident is that the tank bottom also functions as an ultrasonic medium and has delicate transducers attached to it. Then inspect the control panel housing where the control buttons and operational readouts are located. Most units also contain a heater . If the ultrasonic cleaner has been dropped from height, or banged against a hard surface, some electronic components can be shaken partially loose and can affect its cleaning efficiency. Make sure and check for abrasions or indentations on the solution tank walls and bottom, although minor dents on the wall will not really make much of a difference during operation of the cleaner.

If the previous owner has been placing the objects to be cleaned directly on the tank bottom, it is possible that the transducer which adheres to the bottom has been damaged. So, if the unit for sale has no basket, alarm bells should go off. Unless the seller can offer a convincing explanation for the missing basket, buying the used cleaner is risky.

Another warning sign to be aware of is if there is any staining of the housing. This is because the transducers give off considerable heat. This heat gets normally dissipated by the cleaning solvent in the tank.  If the cleaner is operated with an insufficient volume of the solution, or if the solvent is drained prematurely after a cleaning cycle, heat may weaken the attachments between the transducers and the tank. This, in turn, will interfere with the cavitation process. Staining on a used unit’s housing normally denotes that the unit has been overheated during previous use. Indications of erosion also reveals that bleach or acid has been used as a cleaning solution, which is undesirable. Furthermore, streaks in the tank may be an indication of low solvent levels. This in turn is a warning that insufficient cleaning solution has been used during the ultrasonic cleaning cycle.

Then again, the ultrasonic vibrations produced by the generator can themselves loosen the glue joints keeping the transducers to the tank bottom. The more the cleaner has been used, the higher the potential for the transducer to eventually come loose. That is why many ultrasonic cleaners do not have an unlimited life span. If you buy a unit that looks very old, it may not last very long.

Of course, if the seller has maintained the operating instructions and specifications for the unit, it would be a definite asset, but from a practical angle, this is unlikely. It is also a good idea to run a field test before making the purchase. Aside from confirming that the cleaner works, it is important to ascertain if the cavitation process is spread evenly. This can be done quite simply by filling the cleaning tank with warm soapy water and suspending in it a frosted glass slide on which an X has been marked with a No.2 pencil. The X should come off quite easily after the cleaning cycle. To further test if the cavitation is uniform throughout the cleaning solution, hold 1” x 1” aluminum foil squares in the middle of the tank and a few inches from each corner. When the unit is run, each square should be perforated and wrinkled uniformly.

The Key to Entrepreneurial Productivity

Do you ever stare at your watch, realize it is five pm and wonder what happened to the day? What did you actually accomplish today that moved your business ahead? Multiple days like this are a death sentance and a signal that you need to focus on your personal productivity. Here are five tips to help you boost\increase your personal productivity today.

1. Make a List The Night Before

Before you go to sleep, make a list of exactly 5 things that MUST be accomplished the following day. This list is primarily focused on your important items, not the urgent stuff. Important taskslike strategic planning, visiting existing customers, continuing education and market research tend to get crowded out by the urgent if you don’t commit to doing them in writing.

2. Sleep

No matter how much work there is on your plate, you will be more productive and effcient when you are well-rested. Sleep 7-8 hrs per night. Develop a calming bedtime ritual to help you get a solid, peaceful sleep. One of the reasons I am so productive is that I am seldom ever tired.

3. Nourish Your Body

This goes hand-in-hand with sleep. You are not going to build a billion dollar business running your body on plain bagels and white bread. You need 9-13 servings per day (Yes you read that right) of fruits and vegetables. You will be amazed at how good your body feels and how mentally alert you are if you do this. 2 simple ways are 1) getting a juicer and using it daily or 2) purchasing a high-quality juice blend.

4. Leave Email for Last

If you can, leave email for the end of your day. I hardly ever check email before three pm. If you cannot do this, look only every 90 minutes and then spend no more than 20 minutes replying before beginning another ninty minute “no-interruptions” period. Create an email autoresponse message that informs people exactly where to go for FAQs and preciselyy what to do if they need your immediate attention.

5. Give Specific Instructions on Your Voicemail

Record a original voicemail greeting daily and mention when you’ll be returning phone calls that day. Give specific instructions about where to find answers to frequent questions and how to prepare for your return telephone call.

Stiching it all together…

Last night at 11 pm I was still working on my computer, but knew I needed rest for a productive day today. I created a list of five things to do today including writing this article, return calls from my Internet Network Marketing Leads, and finish the content of my MLM coach landing page. This morning I made some coffee and a juice that I blended from fresh strawberries, an orange, frozen blueberries, MonaVie Mmun Juice, fresh spinach, orange juice concentrate, and a high-quality whey protein. My email and phone are off as I write this, but the messages redirect people to important pages on my website and inform them when I’ll be replying to messages today.

Make these 5 simple changes yourself and watch your productivity soar.

The HID proximity cards are the most prevalent

They superseded the once popular MIFARE and Wiegand RFID ID cards. Where did they go?

The MIFARE

The MIFARE operates at 13.56 MHz on a smart card that can be programmed by an apropriate printer. The range – distance the reader can read its information, is fairly short and is generally used in public transactions such as transportation payments, i.e. toll payments. This technology is used extensively in transportation in Europs and Asia as well as the US. Later, this concept was applied to building access and so as an HID access card.

Then, in December 2007, two researchers, Henry Plotz and Karsten Noh, succesfully penetrated the vulnerability of the MIFARE chip in front of the whole world. As of today, there is limited use of MIFARE as an HID access card.

The Wiegand

The Wiegand is the trade name of the technology after its inventor, John R. Wiegand, used in card readers and sensors embedded in cards for access control. There are three wires that form the central system where the data of the user is encoded.

The industry standard 26-bit format is used where mor than 16 million cards can be issued with unique numbers

The fact that a Wiegand card requires contact with the reader, makes throughput very low compared to the hid proximity cards. This low throughput and the necessity of imbedding the credentials on the card during the manufacturing process are the two glaring disadvantages that limited its use as an HID access card.

The HID proximity cards

The HID proximity card is the most popular RFID card in the market today. HID is short for Hughed Identification. It started back when Howard Hughes owned Hughes Aircraft. Each card is the size of today’s ATM card. It contains an RFID chip operating at 125 kHz or 13.26 MHz. The 125 kHz card is more known as prox cards while the 13.26 MHz card as the iClass cards.

The card contains embedded information consisting of two components: the facility code and the card number. These two bits of information provide the unique identifier of the card bearer. The facility code is contained in as many cards as there are number of personnel authorized to access that particular facility. The second number is then given to the ard holder. With these two numbers it is possible to determine who is authorized to be in which location.

The moment the card is read, this information is then transmited to the system’s control her ethe data is analyzed. If approved, the access is granted.

This simple procedure makes the use of HID acess very safe.

Conclusion

On the balance of all the information it is safe to say that between all the technology available, the simple way and secre structure of the HID acess system is the best bet so far.

An HID access card is very different in operational details in comparison to an hid proximity card. Ask your professional consultant on which is uniquely right for you.

Defining upfront the diverse rules, expectations and social organization unique to a family business is vital for its success.  These unique requirements need to be well developed and delineated in the Company  Strategic Plans and continually discussed in periodic family meetings.  This way, every family member feels they are vital and contributing to the Strategic Plan and future of the family venture.

Advantages for family members joining a new family venture are numerous:

  • Family can help and are inexpensive during the maturation period.
  • Family wants the chance to help the business as it benefits the family as a whole.
  • Flexible hours, days and pay are attractive to family member initially, using minimum resources.
  • The business brings family back together.
  • Family members join the family venture because they are frustrated with their current work place and environment.

Working in the role as Business Coaches, I have seen numerous Issues worth considering for an early stage Family Venture:

  • mostly interpersonal issues.  Experience role reversals.
  • Resentment can build if a family member isn’t adequately challenged and rewarded.
  • Issues concerning power, rivalry and jealousy are common between family members.
  • Take in consideration a family member’s personal interest, skills, experience and education when assigning areas of responsibility.
  • Define, exactly, each family member’s area of responsibility.
  • Define who each family member is accountable to, as well as, for.
  • Determine compensation structures- salary, bonus and equity stakes.
  • How will a disagreement be handled?
  • What will be done if a family is not contributing?
  • If a family member wants out, what is the buyout plan and continuation plan?
  • Are you going to allow family members to be non-participating, passive investors in the business?

In a family business, it is important to plan today for tomorrow. If not, unfortunately many family businesses face  Business Turnaround Services. Plan for success!

Will technology bring an end to the office?

How we work is certainly improving significantly in recent times regarding several basic good reasons as well as at a faster rate than humankind has previously experienced. Mankind has gone from harnessing the power of the horse, towards the train, to the plane along with the power with the internet we can easily travel around the globe along at the speed of light.

Warfare, starvation, disease and also technologies. These represent the main causes for the progression or devastation involving humankind. You might argue that all of them are strongly linked. Starvation can result in illness as well as war, or warfare can cause famine and disease.

The initial bit of manmade technology ever made was a flint hand axe initially employed as being a slicing tool and after that like a weapon. Needless to say, this became an essential stage in the act of climbing the food chain.

Technology along with our own competence from it is one thing in which hardly any other creature in nature has. The twentieth century has witnessed us push technology to amazing amounts. If for example the last hundred have been interesting think exactly what the subsequent 100 years will be like.

The latest worldwide financial turmoil has seen lots of people reconsider their own occupations and also more often than not it has been a critical transformation. Many people suddenly lost jobs and several firms had to seriously re-consider the particular manner they function.

The UK is really much a service dependent economy and a lot of the UK’s labor force spend the day in the business office. Nonetheless technology is actually rapidly transforming this. If 30 years ago you had a company conference with someone in the united states you had no option but to fly there or that they had to take a flight to you personally.

Today having technology for instance Skype as well as other interactive video technology businesses don’t have to undertake such prolonged and expensive procedure. In reality technology has come a long way you could most likely do your work from your home equally well.

Office furniture suppliers over recent years have witnessed an increase in the quantity of home office furniture currently being purchased. Undoubtedly the recent financial turmoil had an effect however other people have thought that if the actual trend proceeds there won’t be any requirement for offices at some point.

Other people might believe that although we are able to carry out our work at home by using some attractive home business furniture, it’ll never replace the business office since the home cannot have a similar impact as an office that brings people and their own ideas together.

EU workers kept at home because of bad chairs

There was a time when nations like the UK, France and Germany were manufacturing heavyweights. However over the last one hundred years the European heavy industry has been in decline. No more are economies in Europe dominated by the factory worker. The modern European economy has replaced the labourer with the office worker, but that hasn’t got rid of back problems.

In a recent publication by The Work Foundation which is Europe’s top authority on the workplace have found that musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are accountable for about 50% of workplace absenteeism.

By exploring work absences across the EU, The Work Foundation identified that 49% of absences are because of MSDs and 60% of all permanent work incapacity was also due to MSDs. The most common area of the body to be injured by MSDs is the back and neck.

Calculating accurately how much this costs the European economy year after year is a challenging question to answer but different reports range the total anywhere between €20 billion and €200 billion. With a great deal of Europe’s workforce impacted by MSDs there is a huge amount of time and therefore business either wasted or squandered.

The study completed by The Work Foundation were able to dig out some very significant statistics such as 20% of Europeans have back problems and are unable to work and four out of five Europeans will experience neck and back problems at some time in their life.

The change to an office based economy has been credited to the issues identified in the research by The Work Foundation. There has been a drastic shift in the way economies function in the last one hundred years and office based business is prominent today because in many European countries manufacturing only makes up a small percentage of the economy.

Working in an office can lead to a bad posture because the office chairs you use aren’t ergonomic whatsoever and the setup of your desk or workstation hasn’t been carried out with any ergonomic thought. Many office workers spend very long hours sat in an office chair with poor posture, working on a poorly organised office desk. It is because of this that so many people today have back problems.

It is widely underestimated how much damage can be inflicted by overlooking ergonomics. Having the right ergonomic office chair, computer desk and well laid out workspace will enable employees to work in comfort and without doing any long term damage to important areas such as the back and neck. By committing to ergonomic office furniture a business will experience a decline in absenteeism and a much happier and motivated workforce.

What Suppliers of Nitric Acid Have To Consider

Even though being suppliers of nitric acid is sort of a thriving business venture, persons aiming to be one need to learn the essential things that they need to take into account when they are dealing with the chemical. The dangerous reputation of the acid is not a secret that’s why it is likewise important to know and apply the standard precautionary measures required in handling and producing the substance.

Below are a few of the things that you must keep in mind if ever you have intentions of engaging in business that has something to do with HNO3.

1. Ventilation – Be sure you have an exhaust system.  Either local or general, it depends on you provided that you own one.  Having an exhaust helps keep personnel safe from any kind of unexpected contact and maintain the Airborne Exposure Limits(AEL) to zero.  Purchasing a local exhaust could help in preventing any exposure and would certainly limit the outflow from within the source. This can stop it from going somewhere else like the workplace area wherein most of the workers are stationed.

2. Individual Respirators – Go for those that are NIOSH accepted.  These seem to be very helpful every time accidents related to vapor exposures happen.  Individuals within the affected region ought to wear full-face piece gas mask which includes air supply.  You can in addition make the employees wear airlined hood, full-face piece self-contained breathing apparatus or any other approved respirators that may let them take in air and be protected from HNO3 exposure when they’re undergoing evacuation. Be sure that you do not use canister-type respirators that use sorbents because nitric acid, as an oxidizer, responds to canisters and cartridges that have oxidizable materials.

3. Approved Gears – To stop harmful scenarios, ensure that your staff wear the correct equipment when they are inside the work place.  For skin protection, they are encouraged to put on protective apron, clothing, lab coat, boots and gloves to make sure that the acid will not come into contact with their skin.  With regards to eye protection, workers using the chemical must wear full face shields or goggles.  There should also be a ready eye rinse fountain close to the work area. In addition, putting a quick-drench provision in the work area is also encouraged.

4. Disposal Methods – Nitric acid can’t just get thrown anywhere and everywhere you want.  It is very hazardous and must be discarded properly.  You need to have a proper facility where you could keep the waste products.  Since how you utilize the substance could significantly have an effect on its waste management options, it’s good to consult federal, state and local laws and regulations governing this issue in order to determine what appropriate waste disposal method you should utilize.

5. Stability and Reactivity – Never ever place storage units with HNO3 where they could be heated up.  Heat can cause the substance to become explosive.  In the event the substance is warmed to breaking down, it has the inclination to emit nitrogen oxides and hydrogen nitrate, both of which are incredibly poisonous and dangerous.  Likewise, never ever place it next to steam or water as it could likewise produce corrosive and toxic gases.

You have to think about these if ever you have plans of starting an enterprise that needs you to work with nitric acid.  These kinds of measures can help you make your entire operations worry free and far from accidents.

Is Office Furniture an Investment?

Corporations are forever looking to increase productivity.  Generally, this term typically means committing to any of the components of output: land, workforce, entrepreneurship, or capital.  Organizations would use more employees, increase the scale of productive facilities, buy more PCs, or bring in new executives if they wished to expand their productive volume.

In the modern business market, however, the classification of an ‘investment’ has broadened.  Numerous organizations have found a lot of non-traditional techniques of increasing productivity, and some of these techniques have become thought to be respectable investments.

Interestingly, executive office furniture is quickly joining this space.  Almost all corporations need some amount of office furniture, but its part in output was not fully considered until fairly recently.  To the amazement of many, it is now clear that business furniture can easily play in a significant part in improving productivity.

Irritated workers tend to be much less productive.  Not only can uncomfortable, impractical, and poor quality workplace furniture make employees resentful of their bosses, but fantastic looking furniture can actually put people in a mental state in which they are happier to be working hard.  Researchers routinely point out the importance of employee fulfilment with their work atmosphere in productivity.

In addition to the positive emotional rewards of the perfect furniture, pieces of furniture designed for optimum performance can enhance output in and of themselves.  Even a minor benefit, such as really well designed workstations, if applied fully, can certainly provide businesses with an advantage over competition.

Although several businesses can be cautious on investing a lot of funds on business furniture, there are numerous brands of office furniture, Astro Arche for example, that deliver quality products for not much money.

Modest benefits such as these can be particularly important in creating business momentum.  It is for this reason why companies have been reconsidering exactly how they see workplace furniture.  The advantages of making the most of the value that can be made from furniture evidently justifies its status as an investment.

Outsourcing To A Pick And Pack Provider

Posted in Uncategorized with a total of No comments

Every  company that sells and ships items  must  develop   a way to carry out orders. Often, this means  outsourcing the service  to a third party  source . Once hired, the  source   will receive  shipments, manage inventories and make certain that all orders are sent readily and efficiently . In this article, we will  talk about   why companies  outsource this essential service  and how it works.

The reason  businesses   hire other businesses  to  deliver   their  items and manage their inventories is really quite easy . For one reason , most companies have  minimal   or no experience with logistics. Take your norm  e-commerce company  per say  . What these businesses  are good at is marketing and selling their products on the internet. In business lingo , we would say that those are their core competencies, or the things that they do best .

However, what they do not do well  is manage  warehouses and ship goods . In fact, most e-commerce companies do not have access to a warehouse. And even if they did, the cost of developing  a logistical network from  the beginning   is highly prohibitive. A company would need a warehouse for storage, trucks for transportation, a logistical  group   for management, and a warehouse staff for manual labor.  Not surprisingly, the average  e-commerce company cannot afford the large startup costs required to build their own network. It is much easier and  less costly   for them to simply outsource the service to professionals.

What do you need to  be aware of  ? Before you hire a  service , you must decide which type of provider will serve your customers best. At  this time  , the most popular warehouse management system is named pick and pack. It works  by taking advantage of bulk orders and saving money on storage space. Let us take a moment to explain how it works.

One of the first and most important considerations for any third party logistics provider is to make  sure that they take advantage of every available inch of warehouse space. When the space is properly utilized , they will be able to fit more goods, which means more clients  and more money. Pick and pack allows them to do this by storing bulk orders of hundreds of unlike  items in a miniscule space.  Usually , bulk orders are stacked on pallets, rather than simply  unpacking them. This saves the company valuable shelf space by simply leaving the products in bulk until they are needed .

For this reason, it may be difficult for smaller companies with low sales volumes to find a suitable service provider, since bulk orders are required to realize the cost savings of pick and pack. Turnaround time, delivery options and customer satisfaction are the three most important factors when it comes to choosing a service provider. It also important to find a provider that offers web-based inventory solutions. This gives you, the owner, the ability to monitor the performance of the service provider to ensure that shipping and turnaround times stay within the desired range.
